This is it. Two days before my last ‘race’ for the foreseeable future.
Ok, that’s a bit dramatic. I have a bunch of races coming up, but I’m running them for fun. For the experience. I want to push myself for a PR at Hilton Head on Saturday. I rolled right into training for this race after the New York Marathon, and while I didn’t have much of a rest before kicking off my training, I knew that this course could really be a great opportunity to push for the PR I’ve been seeking. Not my sub-2 half just yet, but I want to do this under 2:10, my current fastest half.
The course is flat, and the weather conditions are looking ideal. High 40s to low 50s. I know I can do this. I’ve been working with my coach, Jess, since August, and she has not only given me workouts and a plan to improve my performance, but she’s also been working on my confidence and race day mindset.
So after my last long run this past weekend, and a good mid-week workout, I’m ready to go! Follow my Instagram for updates on race day, and wish me luck!
